SESISEJ Childcare Centre

The ŚEŚIŚEJ Centre required a rezoning application and development permit for a school district owned property located in a residential neighbourhood in Central Saanich.

Construction began in 2023 and the project was completed in 2024. Bradley Shuya Architect Inc. designed the new childcare building to be modular construction. The Building is composed of 8 modular building components which were built on the lower mainland and delivered to the site and craned into place and connected together. The new single-story building measures approx. 450 sq.m.

The new Childcare building also required site built elements such as entrance roof canopies, stairs, ramps, and walkways. Since this site was previously undeveloped, new site services were required for all utilities, parking, and sidewalks, etc. A community-based care provider will operate this new childcare facility.
