Glacier View School Childcare Centre

The new Childcare center at Glacier View Secondary school in Courtenay is designed similar to the Cumberland prototype to accommodate 75 children of all ages including infants less than 30 months. Four distinct Studios accommodate the children and each Studio is designed for specific age groups. An administration staff and support core is located within the center of the building.

Each studio has a separate exterior entrance and is protected with a covered roof space. The spaces created are open planning and take advantage of natural light with large corner windows. The design allows for visual supervision for safety while giving the kids and staff a stimulating environment to care for and learn in.
